The 2005 Maltese local elections were municipal elections held in Malta on 12 March 2005. The Malta Labour Party won an absolute majority, and about 68% of eligible voters participated. Marsa and Żejtun did not vote after the number of candidates was reduced shortly before the deadline for nominations. The number of councillors in each locality was set by population, ranging from five to 13.
