Pacific Southwest Airlines Flight 182 was a flight from Sacramento to San Diego, with a stopover in Los Angeles. On September 25, 1978, its Boeing 727 collided mid-air with a private Cessna 172 over San Diego. Both aircraft crashed into the North Park neighborhood. All 135 people aboard the Boeing, both Cessna pilots, and seven people on the ground were killed. Nine others were injured, and 22 homes were destroyed or damaged.
