The American Belgian Draft is an American breed of draft horse. It developed from the draft horses of Belgium, then became genetically distinct during the early twentieth century because of isolation and different selective breeding. Compared with Belgian draft horses, it is generally taller and less heavily built, with a markedly different distribution of coat colors.
