Shibuya is a special ward in Tokyo, Japan, and a major commercial center. Its notable neighborhoods and districts include Harajuku, Ebisu, Omotesandō, Yoyogi, and Sendagaya. The ward developed around a railway terminus and became a hub for youth culture in the 1970s. Internationally recognized attractions include Shibuya Crossing, Shibuya Scramble Square’s rooftop view, and the statue of Hachikō. Redevelopment around Shibuya Station has been under way since 2010.
