Water-soluble potassium salts used as fertilizer
Epic
Potash is a name for mined and manufactured salts containing potassium in water-soluble form. The term derives from “pot ash”, referring to plant or wood ashes soaked in water in a pot, an early method of making potash. Potassium takes its name from potash. In 2021, worldwide potash production exceeded 71.9 million tonnes, and Canada was the largest producer for fertilizer use.
