The Canada men's national ice hockey team, commonly called Team Canada, represents Canada in international ice hockey. It is overseen by Hockey Canada, which belongs to the International Ice Hockey Federation. The national men's team was founded in 1963 by David Bauer as part of the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association. Canada has won the 1972 Summit Series, four Canada Cups, two World Cups of Hockey, nine Olympic gold medals and 28 World Championship titles.
