The shovelnose guitarfish (Pseudobatos productus) is a ray in the family Rhinobatidae. It was first described by ichthyologist William Orville Ayre in 1854 as Rhinobatos productus and was later placed in the genus Pseudobatos. The species has a pointed, shovel-shaped snout, a large head and a long, slender body resembling a guitar. It has characteristics of both sharks and rays, and was initially considered a shark because of its dorsal fins.
