Serial Killers

Aileen Carol Wuornos (née Pittman) was an American serial killer. Between 1989 and 1990, while engaging in street prostitution along Florida highways, she shot, killed and robbed seven male clients. She initially said the killings were committed in self-defense after rape or attempted rape, but later abandoned that defense. Sentenced to death for six murders, she was executed in 2002 after more than ten years on Florida's death row.
