The 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, known as the Six Triple Eight, was a predominantly-Black, multi-ethnic US Women's Army Corps battalion that managed postal services during World War II. Led by Major Charity Adams, it had 855 women and was the only Black and multi-ethnic WAC unit sent overseas. Its members included postal clerks, cooks, mechanics and other support staff across five companies.
