Grigoriy Ivanovich Shchedrin (1912–1995) was a Soviet Navy submarine commander and admiral. After joining the submarine service in 1934, he commanded several boats, including S-56. In 1942 he led six submarines from the Pacific Fleet to the Red Banner Northern Fleet via the Panama Canal. S-56 completed eight war patrols, and Shchedrin received the Hero of the Soviet Union in 1944. He later held senior fleet posts and edited Morskoy Sbornik.
