The channel-billed cuckoo (Scythrops novaehollandiae) is a cuckoo species in the family Cuculidae and the only species in the genus Scythrops. It is described as the world’s largest brood parasite and the largest cuckoo. It occurs in Australia, New Guinea and Indonesia, with vagrant records in New Caledonia and New Zealand. Three subspecies are recognized, including one migratory subspecies and two resident ones.
