The Rape of Proserpina, more accurately translated as The Abduction of Proserpina, is a large Baroque marble group sculpture by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Executed in 1621 and 1622, it depicts Pluto seizing Proserpina and taking her to the underworld, with Cerberus marking its border. Cardinal Scipione Borghese commissioned the work, which was made from Carrara marble.
