  • Cardiovascular Diseases

Aortic regurgitation, also called aortic insufficiency, is a type of aortic valve disease and valve insufficiency. It occurs when the aortic valve leaks during ventricular diastole, allowing blood to flow backward from the aorta into the left ventricle. This causes the cardiac muscle to work harder than normal.
