Stephan “Steve” Wadiak, nicknamed “The Cadillac”, was an American football running back. A star for the South Carolina Gamecocks, he was named Southern Conference Player of the Year in 1950. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected him in the third round of the 1952 NFL draft, but he was killed in a car crash before his first season. South Carolina retired his number, the first player to receive that honor.
