The 2019 Kerch Strait liquefied gas tanker fire occurred on 21 January 2019 while the vessels Kandy and Maestro were transferring liquefied gas in the Kerch Strait. A fire explosion spread across both ships. Fourteen crewmembers were killed and six went missing, while twelve sailors were rescued after jumping into the water. The blaze lasted more than four days, and the rescue operation involved ten ships.
