Gulf Air Flight 771 was a scheduled passenger service from Karachi, Pakistan, to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. On 23 September 1983, a bomb exploded in the baggage compartment of its Boeing 737-200 while it was on approach, causing a fire. The aircraft crashed in the desert near Jebel Ali, between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. All 105 passengers and seven crew members were killed. The Abu Nidal Organization planted the bomb.
