Drag queen

A drag queen is a person, usually male, who uses drag clothing and makeup to imitate and often exaggerate female gender signifiers and roles for entertainment. Drag queens have historically often been gay men and part of gay culture. Drag may be used for self-expression or mainstream performance. Drag shows can include lip-syncing, live singing, and dancing, and occur in settings such as pride parades, pageants, cabarets, carnivals, and nightclubs.
