7-Eleven, Inc. is an American convenience store chain headquartered in Irving, Texas. It is wholly owned by Seven-Eleven Japan, itself owned by Seven & I Holdings. Founded in Dallas in 1927 as the Southland Ice Company, it was renamed 7-Eleven in 1946 to reflect hours from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. As of August 2024, it operated, franchised, and licensed roughly 85,000 stores in 20 countries and territories.
