Counter-Strike: Source is a tactical first-person shooter developed by Valve and Turtle Rock Studios. Released for Windows in October 2004, it remakes Counter-Strike (2000) using the Source game engine. Players take counter-terrorist or terrorist roles across rounds, winning by completing objectives such as bomb detonation or hostage rescue, or by eliminating the opposing team. It was initially bundled with Half-Life 2 before a standalone release.
