Stenosis

Stenosis is the abnormal narrowing of a blood vessel or another tubular organ or structure, including foramina and canals. It may also be called a stricture, although that term is usually used when smooth muscle contraction causes the narrowing. Stenosis commonly refers to narrowing caused by a lesion that reduces the lumen. Restenosis is stenosis that recurs after a procedure.
