The Cavallo Romano della Maremma Laziale is a horse breed native to Italy's Lazio region. Although described as an ancient breed, it received official recognition only in 2010. It is one of fifteen indigenous horse breeds of limited distribution listed by the Italian breeders' association, AIA. Lazio has classified it as at risk of erosion. Its population is about 800, concentrated mainly around Monte Romano, with herds also in Ponzano Romano and the province of Rieti.
