51 Pegasi b, officially named Dimidium, is an extrasolar planet about 50 light-years away in the constellation Pegasus. It was the first planet discovered orbiting a main-sequence star, the Sun-like 51 Pegasi, and became the prototype for hot Jupiters. Traces of water were discovered in its atmosphere in 2017. Its discovery contributed in part to the 2019 Nobel Prize in Physics.
