SS West Elcajon was a steel-hulled cargo ship built in 1918 for the United States Shipping Board's World War I emergency shipbuilding program. Commissioned briefly as USS West Elcajon, it made a postwar famine relief mission to Eastern Europe. Returned to merchant service in 1926, it later operated as SS Golden Kauri in the timber trade between the United States and Australia. Renamed SS Waipio and then SS Paralos, it was scrapped in Japan in 1954.
