The second-generation Ford Taurus is a Ford mid-size car produced for the 1992 through 1995 model years. Sold as a four-door sedan and five-door station wagon, it used the Ford DN5 platform shared with the Mercury Sable. This generation introduced flexible-fuel powertrains, standard dual airbags and a standard V6 engine. Following more than 410,000 sales in 1992, it became the best-selling car in the United States.
