The Temple of Kom Ombo is a double temple in the town of Kom Ombo, Aswan Governorate, Upper Egypt. It was constructed under the Ptolemaic dynasty between 180 and 47 BC, with later additions made during the Roman period. In ancient times the place was called NBU, meaning “Gold”. Greeks and Romans later called it OMBOS, while its Arabic name means “Mound of Gold”.
