Honeyguides, family Indicatoridae, are a family of 16 bird species in the order Piciformes. Also called indicator birds or honey birds, they occur in Old World tropical regions, with most species in Africa and two in Asia. One or two species deliberately lead humans to bee colonies, then feed on grubs and beeswax left behind. Interactions with honey badgers have also been reported.
