Contract bridge, commonly called bridge, is a trick-taking card game played with a standard 52-card deck. Four players form two partnerships and sit opposite one another. Each deal includes dealing, an auction, card play, and scoring. Bids communicate information about players' hands and set a contract for the declaring side to fulfill. Casual play commonly uses rubber bridge, while clubs and tournaments usually use variants of duplicate bridge.
