USS Indianapolis (CL/CA-35) was a Portland-class heavy cruiser of the United States Navy, launched in 1931 and named for Indianapolis, Indiana. In July 1945, she delivered uranium and other components for Little Boy to Tinian Naval Base. Soon afterward, the Japanese submarine I-58 torpedoed and sank her. Of 1,195 crewmen aboard, only 316 survived. The wreck was located in the Philippine Sea in 2017.
