GNU Unifont is a free Unicode bitmap font created by Roman Czyborra. Its main font covers the Basic Multilingual Plane, while companion fonts extend coverage into parts of the Supplementary Multilingual Plane and include Japanese kanji from JIS X 0213. It is included in many free operating and windowing systems, and became a GNU package in October 2013. Paul Hardy is its current maintainer.
