  • Physics Concepts and Laws

Gravity, also called gravitation, is a fundamental interaction that draws material objects toward each other. Its attraction helped form stars, galaxies and clusters in the early universe, and it has infinite range while weakening with distance. General relativity describes gravity as curvature of spacetime caused by mass, while Newton's law provides an approximation for many applications. On planetary surfaces, gravity gives objects weight and affects tides, weather and biological processes.
