Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS), also called Call-Fleming syndrome, is a disease involving a weeks-long course of thunderclap headaches. It can sometimes cause focal neurologic signs or seizures, thought to result from temporary abnormalities in brain blood vessels. It may be associated with childbirth, pregnancy complications, or vasoactive or illicit drug use. Most patients recover fully within three weeks, although persistent deficits and severe complications can rarely occur.
