Schwartz space

  • Calculus and Analysis

In mathematics, Schwartz space is the function space of all functions whose derivatives of every order are rapidly decreasing. Its Fourier transform is an automorphism of the space. By duality, this permits the definition of the Fourier transform for elements of its dual space, the tempered distributions. A function in Schwartz space is sometimes called a Schwartz function. The space is named after French mathematician Laurent Schwartz.
