Poland, officially the Republic of Poland, is a Central European country extending from the Baltic Sea to the Sudetes and Carpathian Mountains. It has sixteen voivodeships and a population of over 38 million. Warsaw is its capital and largest city. Poland is a parliamentary republic with a bicameral legislature, the Sejm and Senate, and is a member of the United Nations, NATO and the European Union.
