Luigi Mangione

Luigi Nicholas Mangione is an American former software engineer, born in Maryland in 1998. He attended the University of Pennsylvania before becoming a software engineer. He was convicted in connection with the 2024 stalking and shooting death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan. After a nationwide manhunt, he was arrested in Altoona, Pennsylvania. In August 2026, he pleaded guilty to federal stalking charges and admitted to fatally shooting Thompson.
