Ghana, officially the Republic of Ghana, is a West African country on the Gulf of Guinea and Atlantic Ocean. It borders Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Togo, and spans ecologies from coastal savannas to tropical rainforests. Its capital and most populous city is Accra. Ghana became the first colony in Sub-Saharan Africa to achieve sovereignty on 6 March 1957. It is a unitary constitutional democracy led by a president.
