Attacus atlas, commonly called the Atlas moth, is a large saturniid moth endemic to forests of Asia. Carl Linnaeus described the species in the 1758 10th edition of Systema Naturae. It is among the largest lepidopterans, often having a wingspan of 250 to 300 mm and a wing surface area of about 160 cm². Females are larger and heavier than males, while males have broader antennae.
