The Atlantic puffin, also called the common puffin, is a seabird in the auk family and the only puffin native to the Atlantic Ocean. It breeds around northern Atlantic coasts and islands, including Iceland, Britain, Norway, Greenland and eastern Canada. It feeds by diving for zooplankton, small fish and crabs. Breeding birds nest in clifftop burrows, where they lay a single white egg. The species is rated vulnerable by the IUCN.
