Cineas was a Thessalian diplomat and historian who lived around 350 to 277 BC. He served as an important adviser to King Pyrrhus of Epirus, who held him in high regard. Cineas was known for his wisdom and oratorical skill. He was a pupil of Demosthenes and was said to be the only man comparable to Demosthenes in skill. Cicero and Plutarch described him as an Epicurean.
