Anak Krakatoa, also called Anak Krakatau, is a volcanic island and active volcano in Indonesia. It emerged on 29 December 1927 from the caldera created by Krakatoa's explosive 1883 eruption. The site has experienced sporadic eruptive activity since the late 20th century. A sector collapse on 22 December 2018 caused the deadly 2018 Sunda Strait tsunami, and volcanic activity has continued in the 2020s.
