Cologne Cathedral, or Kölner Dom, is a Catholic cathedral in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Cologne and the Archdiocese of Cologne's administration. Construction began in 1248, stopped around 1560, and was completed to its original medieval plan in 1880. Declared a World Heritage Site in 1996, it has the tallest twin-spired church structure in the world.
