M&M's is a brand of color-varied, sugar-coated chocolate confectionery made by Mars Wrigley, a division of Mars Inc., since 1941. Individual pieces have a white lower-case “m” on one side. The original variety contained semi-sweet chocolate, and Peanut M&M's, introduced in 1954, contains a peanut coated in milk chocolate and a candy shell. The brand was conceived by Forrest Mars and Bruce Murrie and is sold in more than 100 countries.
