The Powhatan class is a class of seven fleet ocean tugs built for the United States Navy and operated by the Military Sealift Command (MSC). Its lead ship was launched in 1978. The final ship in MSC service was scheduled for deactivation in 2023. During their service life, Powhatan-class ships were the most powerful tugs owned by the Navy.
