Belfast South is a constituency in the Northern Ireland Assembly, in the United Kingdom. First used for a Northern Ireland-only Assembly election in 1973, it has also elected members to the 1975 Constitutional Convention, the 1982 Assembly and the 1996 Forum. Its boundaries usually match those of the Belfast South UK Parliament constituency, although they differed during several periods. The constituency includes districts and wards within Belfast City Council and Lisburn and Castlereagh.
