The Minerva class is a series of corvettes built for the Italian Navy in two batches of four during the 1980s and 1990s. Designed for coastal operations, the ships emphasize anti-submarine warfare and carry a 76 mm general-purpose gun, but have no anti-ship missile capability. Their missions include sea policing, patrols, fisheries protection, and naval commando training. Four vessels are active with the Bangladesh Coast Guard as offshore patrol vessels.
