William J. Crawford

William John Crawford was a United States Army soldier who received the Medal of Honor for actions during World War II. The award was initially believed to be posthumous while he was a prisoner of war. A career enlisted soldier, he reached the rank of master sergeant. After retiring from the military, he worked as a janitor at the United States Air Force Academy and received the medal from President Ronald Reagan in 1984.
