The Izak catshark (Holohalaelurus regani) is a species of deepwater catshark in the family Pentanchidae. Common off South Africa and southern Namibia, it lives on the outer continental shelf, usually at depths of 100 to 300 m. It has a flattened head, a robust body with a long slender tail, and dark markings on a light yellowish background. It feeds on fishes, crustaceans, and cephalopods, and lays encapsulated eggs.
