The 2020-2021 China-India skirmishes were confrontations between Chinese and Indian troops along the Sino-Indian border, including Ladakh, the Tibet Autonomous Region, and Sikkim. They involved aggressive melee, face-offs, and clashes along the Line of Actual Control. Fighting in the Galwan Valley on 15-16 June 2020 resulted in deaths of Chinese and Indian soldiers. Disengagement occurred at several sites in 2020 and 2021. In December 2024, India stated that full disengagement in Eastern Ladakh had been achieved.
