Marcus Furius Camillus, born around 41 BC and alive after AD 18, was a Roman senator and close friend of Emperor Tiberius. Although he had no previous military experience, he achieved successes against the Numidian rebel Tacfarinas as governor of Africa. Tiberius publicly praised him and granted him triumphal honours. Tacitus later remarked that Camillus lived inconspicuously enough to survive this distinction.
