Danielle Casanova, born Vincentella Perini, was a French communist activist, dentist and member of the French Resistance during World War II. She was a high-ranking figure in the Communist Youth and founded the Union des Jeunes Filles de France in 1936. Arrested in 1942 for organising actions against the German occupiers, she was deported to Auschwitz in 1943. She worked as a dentist at the camp infirmary and died of typhus shortly afterward.
