His films included High Wall, Side Street, When Worlds Collide, and The Big Heat. He won the 1954 Edgar Award for Best Motion Picture Screenplay for The Big Heat. Boehm was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and died in Woodland Hills, California.
